Mei is a messaging app that applies artificial intelligence to analyze your conversations and detect if any of your contacts are in the mood for you. Available for both Android and iPhone (iOS) testing, Mei replaces its conventional SMS app and promises to examine the chat content with friends, as well as their emotional profile, as a way to identify people who have a lot of in common with you or who may be interested. According to the developer, the tool supports receiving stories exported from WhatsApp.
The downloadable app can be found on the Google Play Store and App Store under test. Remember that the use of the most advanced functions depends on the consumption of credits acquired on the platform.

To use Mei, you need to join the testing program and activate the app as your main SMS messaging app. Then a startup process shows the program interface and instructs the user to use the tool. The software compares the content of conversations with a database that reflects behavioral traits common to people who may be unsure about what they feel.
The result is a success scale of an eventual relationship with the person, as well as determining if the personalities are even compatible. The tool displays a score from the comparison of profiles that consider traits such as openness, emotional control, extrovert and pleasurability. Mei is able to learn as the user base grows, so the tendency is for him to become more accurate over time.
This detail, however, is significant: In order to take advantage of the function of measuring the personality and potential interest of your contacts, you will have to agree to submit the content of your conversations for analysis of artificial intelligence. Even though the creators of the app promise total anonymity, the choice may sound too invasive to those who value privacy.

Although free to use, the application requires the user to have credits on the platform to perform conversation analysis operations for a diagnosis. You can buy ten Mei credits for $ 3.69, but it takes 100 credits (for $ 13.99) for a complete review of a history of messages exchanged with one.
Another restriction that the tool, still under test, has some translation errors in the interface and there is an important limitation: to check SMS message histories, the app needs you to have conversations with at least a thousand words exchanged with someone. Since SMS may not be your favorite way to exchange messages, the app supports receiving stories exported from WhatsApp although, in our tests with a Galaxy S9 Plus and Android 9, the feature didn't work.
