How to Create Animated Instagram Stories with Canva | Publishers

Canva is a free editor with versions for PC and Android and iPhone (iOS) phones that lets you create arts online. The tool has the option to create animated stories and share on social networks such as Instagram or Facebook. Just choose a template as the basis for the story layout, and then select the animated stickers you want from the Canva gallery.

In the following tutorial, learn how to use the Canva app to create animated images and share on Instagram Stories. The application runs straight from the browser and can be used on Windows, Linux and macOS PCs.

Step 1. Visit the Canva website and log in to your account. To do this, press "Enter" in the upper right corner of the page. If necessary, create a free registration with the option "Register";

Step 2. Now select the search field and search for "your story";

Step 3. In the left side column, select the template you want and click on it to edit it;

Step 4. The chosen template will be opened in the editor. Select a text to change the content. The formatting options are located on the panel just above;

Step 5. You can change the color of the figures, background, margins and other elements. To do this, just click on the desired item and choose the color in the upper left corner;

Step 6. To change the photos of the template, go to the "Uploads" tab on the left side and select "Upload an image". Upload the desired image and, after upload, click and drag to the desired location in the template;

Step 7. Animated stickers can be added on the "Elements" tab. Press "All" to the right of "Stickers" to see all options. That done, tick the sticker you want to use;

Step 8. You can move stickers and objects by dragging with the mouse. The buttons that appear in the corners of the rectangle serve to increase or decrease the size and to rotate;

Step 9. After making the desired editions, open the Canva app on your mobile phone and log in to your account. Select the second tab at the bottom of the screen and tap on the template you just edited. With the image open, tap the share button in the upper right corner and select Instagram;

Step 10. On Instagram, tap "Your Story" in the bottom left corner to add the photo directly to your story, or "Send To" to select specific friends.
