New 13 ″ MacBook Pro has bigger battery and soldered SSD [atualizado: vídeo]
New sales MacBooks Pro and Air started last Tuesday and the iFixit didn't blink to get his hands on Ma's new notebook and share the disassembly of the new 13 ? MacBook Pro (with two Thunderbolt 3 ports) input model, which has been updated with Intel's latest generation processors, the Touch Bar and Apple's T2 security chip.
The innards of the new laptop revealed a larger battery with a capacity of 58.2Wh versus 54.5Wh of the previous model without Touch Bar. IFixit points out that this additional capacity powers the Touch ID chips, T2 and Touch Bar to maintain the same autonomy as before (10 hours).
Speaking of the new input model components, iFixit noted that Apple has shrunk the size of the MacBook Pro's heat sink to make room for the Touch Bar integrated Touch ID sensor. In addition, the speaker also appears to have shrunk. but without affecting the sound potential of the machine.
While earlier MacBook Pro 13 ? entry models (mid-2016) have a modular SSD, the internal storage component is soldered to the latest machine.
On the other hand, there are still some modular components, such as the Thunderbolt card and headphone jack like other notebook models. Another plus point that the trackpad can be replaced without having to swap the entire top case Notebook
As we reported this week, the new MacBook Pro has the same (third-generation) butterfly keyboard with the new material introduced in models introduced last May, which promises ?greater reliability?. That doesn't mean much, though, as Apple has already added this year's MacBooks Pro to its butterfly keyboard repair program.
Given the welding system similar to previous MacBook Pro models, Apple's new machine received a low ?repairability? score by iFixit (2 points out of 10) due to the same concerns as always: using screws made exclusively by Apple and battery, internal storage and RAM glued to the chassis.
So let's look at the bright side: what the new MacBook Pro has no repairability, at least it has power.
