Most phones come with their own standard calendar. But in many cases, they have no customization options or the associated widget (if any) is not used. Pure Calendar widget promises many features that allow us to adjust the calendar for our own needs. All personalized!
Functions & Usage
Device: Samsung Galaxy NoteAndroid version: 2.3.6Root: At the
The test was done on a device running ADWLauncher EX. The problem is that this launcher is incompatible with Samsung's calendar widget, Splanner. Therefore, the alternative to the tester was to use the Pure Calendar widget.
The installation is fast and the application occupies only 1.18 MB. Most interestingly, the widgets developer indicates which access rights each application feature needs. For example, access to contacts or birthdates. Internet access is required to download new masks for new widgets. And something important to say: in order for it to work more efficiently, it is suggested that the widget be installed directly on the phone and not on the SD card.
Here its main functions:
- Sync with Google Calendar
- Google, TouchDown & Moto / LG Exchange Calendar Display
- Astrid, Ultimate, To-Do List, TaskSync, CalenGoo, DGT GTd, gTasks, Got To Do, Due Today, TouchDown, Pocket Informant and others to-do list display
- Large amount of mask for widgets
- Mobile widgets on Android 3.x or 4.x devices and alternatives for launchers like ADW, LiveHome, Go Launcher EX or LauncherPro
- Compatibility with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
When you insert a widget, it will soon appear on the main screen. Clicking on it, the main menu will be displayed. By adding a new widget, you can choose from ten different sizes ranging from 2×2 to 4×4. At first, a widget is displayed and gives a short introductory explanation, which is in English. Once the application is started, you have general configuration access. There is the toolbar, a list of widgets, refresh intervals, date and time formats, that is, the basics. In the menu we find the following points:
- To-do list: If any Astrid-type task manager, gTasks is being used, the widget displays the tasks. Any.DO app is not compatible with Pure Calendar
- Colors: Colors can be adjusted to use in widget text, calendar priorities, and task sorting.
- System: advanced system configuration
After adjustments are made, a widget mask can be selected in addition to its degree of transparency. It is recommended to save the widget created on the SD card.
Pure Calendar widget is a complete and powerful tool that allows you to get an overview of all organized tasks and appointments. It has many customization options. The only problem is the incompatibility with the Any.DO Pro task manager. Nevertheless, we can only say that a great app.
Screen & Controls
Once installed, the Pure Calendar widget is very easy to use. To add an appointment, just click the + sign above, right. It is even possible to adjust even the duration of the appointments. It is important to read the tutorial, which is unfortunately for those who do not speak the language in English. In an application with so many configuration and customization options, it's important to understand what to do.
Speed ??& Stability
In terms of speed and stability, the Pure Calendar widget (calendar) behaves very well. There was no speed problem, even when testing other masks and different settings. Everything is very fast and stable. The good thing that Google Calendar sync works perfectly.
Price / Performance Ratio
The Pure Calendar widget would cost EUR 1.77. Price good to have an app with so many features and so effective. But our Mondays, as hard as they are simply Monday, are happier. After all the promotion day of the app of the week. And that app is costing just EUR 0.79.
