1. Edit images with hand drawings and figures
You can customize the images that are exchanged between your contacts in different ways in Telegram. Hand drawing, figures and texts are some of them. However, there is a small image editor built into the app, which comes with features to adjust brightness, contrast and other aspects of the image. A lot of practicality, isn't it?
Select an image or video to upload, as you normally do, and click the edit icon to begin customization. You can also insert text and even special stickers on the image!
3. Advanced search in chats and groups
If you want to search for something in a Telegram chat or group, just tap the three dots in the upper right corner and select Search. In the two buttons that appear, you can go directly to a specific date or search and select a user and will only follow your posts.
If you type something in the search field, find everything related to the term you typed. If you want to search by media, click on the Group or Contact name and go to the Shared Media section. Shared photos and videos will appear, but if you click on the name at the top of the screen you can access only shared files, links or music.
5. Stickers and animated GIFs
I am not speaking here of simple emojis, but of true images that can be used to express the most diverse feelings, distinguished by the most elaborate graphics. Stickers are like stickers, stickers that can be drawings or pictures. They are downloaded in complete packages with different themes or individually.
Animated GIFs, much requested by WhatsApp users (so far as they have already been implemented), can be searched and sent between Telegram contacts via a directory within the app itself that searches the Giphy service. So you don't have to search Google and send a static image to play with a contact, just attach an animated GIF provided by Telegram itself by searching through @gif.
7. Mention the contacts
We can say that this function is the modern version of that "call attention" feature of MSN. In a group or individual dialogue, you can mention the contact's name so that they can be notified immediately.
For example: I'm in a conversation in a group that Bruno Salutes participates in, so if I want to get your attention, just write @BrunoSalutes. Ready! She be notified about my message.
9. Sending Documents
Telegram supports various file formats such as PDFs, Office files, zipped folders, images and more. To send them, click the icon next to the send button (a clip) and then the File button. Select the file type and where it is located, either on your device's internal or external storage.
11. Use multiple accounts in one app s
To this day, to use more than one WhatsApp account, I need to juggle or rely on smartphone features (unless you use WhatsApp Business). Already in Telegram this is a native option, which allows you to add not just one more, but several other service accounts in just one app.
Enabling this feature is very easy, but keep in mind that you will need a new phone number for each new account (this number's chip does not have to be on this device, however). Go to the three traits menu in the upper left corner and under your account click Add Account.
13. Make your own stickers
Tired of always using the same stickers? Want a selection just for you? Would you like to pack a sticker with your own reactions? It is possible and relatively easy. First of all, I need to put together the right size images.
Telegram asks for images no larger than 512 x 512 pixels and cropped to the format you like, saved in PNG (to keep the background transparent, if applicable). They also ask you to put the white border around the images to look like real stickers, but this is not required.
15. Use the web version
Like WhatsApp, Telegram also has its web version but, unlike its green competitor, it does not need the connected smartphone to use. Just go to web.telegram.org and do the same process you do on smartphones by entering your phone number and the code you receive.
The web version is slightly different from the smartphone app, and its functions are slightly simpler. But almost 100% of what you need to use will be available.
17. Use themes and night mode
Another popular request on WhatsApp, themes are a reality in Telegram. The app itself comes with three different ones, including a dark one, but you can also create your own theme or install third party themes. To find more themes, go to https://t.me/themes and install what you prefer.
To change the theme, go to the side menu, select Settings, Theme and choose the one you like. The creation of themes also in this area, and there is also the possibility to enable Night Mode, which darkens the entire app for better reading at night. You can ask to activate the programmed theme by time or sun or when the ambient brightness is below a percentage you set.
19. Use the Quick Read feature
When we click something on WhatsApp, we are redirected to an external browser or app. In Telegram, most links and content can be viewed in the app itself, and easily. There is no secret to use here: just click on the link and if Easy Reading is enabled it will appear underneath the story.
Click this button and the text opens in the app itself, without ads or other website features. Thus, this mode saves data and makes it easier to read, since only the text and its images appear.
21. Share Your Location
As with WhatsApp, you can share your location with a Telegram contact. You click on the clip near the message area and select Location. You can send your current location at that time or share your location for a set time ranging from 15 minutes to 8 hours.
23. Create a Channel
Sometimes you want to convey information, but you don't want people to start a conversation. You might have, for example, a website, and just want people to receive your articles without interacting with each other, serving only as a feed.
This serves a Channel in Telegram. By creating one, you just post it, and you can still track how many people viewed it and install bots that help you use it. To create one, go to the side menu and click New Channel. Give name, description and photo, choose whether you want a public or private channel and link to it.
If it's public, your channel can be found by searching. If proven, only people with the link you chose will be able to access the channel. The user subscribes to the channel and will receive any updates you make.
25. Send Video Messages
In addition to sending text and voice messages, through Telegram you also send video messages that appear in a circular format in the conversation. To send one, go to the conversation field and tap the microphone icon. It will turn into a video icon.
Hold your finger on this button to start recording a video of up to one minute. In the middle of the video, you can change the camera you are recording, and after recording you can cut something from the beginning or end of the video.
