Another edition of the international conference SHiFT – Social and Human Ideas For Technology will take place between 15 and 17 October. Created to think about the impact of technologies on citizens’ lives, the initiative has been taking place since 2006 and this year opts for a different way of structuring the event.

By the end of the month, the organization is accepting suggestions, in the form of a contribution to define the speakers’ agenda for the 2008 edition of the event.

The organization of the conference also informs that SHiFT has since become a non-profit association «dedicated to the dissemination and sharing of technological knowledge».

Among the organization’s priorities is the reinvestment of funds raised in the annual conference «in projects of a technological and social nature to bring technology to the most disadvantaged people», Vice-President Bruno Figueiredo explained to TeK.
