British band Coldplay will release the first single from their new album online free of charge and will give two free entrance concerts in London and New York to promote his new work.

The information is advanced on the group’s website, the same place where all users can do the download of the song «Violet Hill» starting at noon tomorrow. The track will be available for a week and anticipates the release of the album «Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends», expected in June this year.

This is a strategy similar to that taken by the British Radiohead who, in October, published their album «In Rainbows» on the Internet and left it up to the users to decide how much they wanted to pay for the CD, and to the Nine Inch Nails, which made a profit 1, $ 6 million in advance online of his most recent work.
