Sapo opens laboratory at the University of Aveiro

The 1st National Congress of Intellectual Property is scheduled for 14 and 15 May, an event promoted by the PLMJ Sociedade de Advogados Engineering and Technology Prospective Observatory, to be held at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in Lisbon.

During the congress, the various aspects of the current situation of intellectual property and its protection will be discussed, as well as the development of the knowledge economy.

Among the participants invited to this event, the presence of several national and international speakers is expected, who, during seven plenary and six parallel sessions, will discuss the various topics related to the defense of Intellectual Property and the role it plays in the development of current societies. .

Among the objects of discussion in plenary already advanced by the organization, the following stand out: «Intellectual Property and the Knowledge Economy», «The Situation of Copyright and Related Rights in Portugal», «Public Policies and Intellectual Property: Challenges Institutional «,» Technological Development and Intellectual Property «,» IP Value Chain and Economy «,» Copyright, Related Rights and the Internet «and» Development Strategy, European Union and Intellectual Property «.

The presidency of this first congress will be in charge of Luís Valadares Tavares, who says, now, that this initiative aims to «open the debate to all the protagonists of these areas (artists, creators, technological companies, legislator) so that they can analyze the main issues that are currently facing the defense of Intellectual Property and the Knowledge Economy «.
