1Password brings back support for local vault on iOS; Instagram, Overcast and AirBuddy are updated

And here we are again with the most relevant updates from popular apps from App Store! Shall we go to them?

1Password

The famous password manager had attracted the ire of some users when, a few weeks ago, he removed the possibility to create a password from his iOS app. local safe passwords on the iPhone or iPad – with this, old users of the service, who had purchased the (no-existing) separate version of the application, now need a subscription to the 1Password to use it if they reinstalled the app.

Fortunately, developer AgileBits listened to the complaints waterfall and fixed the problem in version 7.3.4 of 1Password for iOS. With it, users who previously purchased the loose version of the app can again create local safes on their iOS devices during setup.

In addition, the update provides an easier way to turn off two-factor authentication from your account, as well as improving integration with Apple ID passwords. We also have bug fixes and other improvements.

Instagram

Meanwhile, the Instagram brought a novelty that does not come with an update itself: from now on, the network will notify users who are close to having their accounts banned for disrespecting community guidelines.

Upcoming ban notice on Instagram

If your account is close to being banned (which is hypothetical, as I know you’re a good person and don’t post wrong things on the network), Instagram will display a warning informing you of the situation and listing all irregular content in your account, between photos and videos posted on feed, comments and Stories. The notice will state that if the behavior is repeated, you will have your account permanently deleted, along with your posts, files, messages and followers.

On that same page, users will be able to appeal against the network’s decision – at this first moment, however, you will only be able to appeal if Instagram detects nudity or hateful content, and other types of infringement will be added to this platform soon.

In addition, Instagram will also internally change the banning policy and the options it gives its moderators: a user who posts a lot of hateful content in a short period of time, for example, could be banned within hours, instead of having posts blocked.

Overcast

The popular podcast app, in turn, brought news in version 2019.6: now, shared snippets programs can be up to 90 seconds long, and download, erase and sort settings can be customized by podcast.

In addition, the new version has a new recommendations area which replaces the old Twitter integration and brings some bug fixes.

AirBuddy

Finally, the utility that gives the Mac the same integration with AirPods seen on iOS has gained some interesting additions. Version 1.3 of AirBuddy supports Powerbeats Pro and the new AirPods with the wireless charging case.

The update now also shows the correct LED indicator on the wireless charging case – green when charged or amber when charging / below 30%. We also have the option to display the battery level of other accessories (such as the Magic Trackpad or the Magic Keyboard) in the AirBuddy window itself, as well as not to display the pairing interface when the device is not recognized – which it’s useful if you’re in an environment full of AirPods.

AirBuddy can be purchased on your Gumroad page in the “pay as you want” model – as long as it is a value above $ 5.
