1Password 6.0 for OS X is released with great news; update is free!

We have spoken here on the website many times 1Password, an app / utility for password management is essential for anyone concerned with security.

1Password - Password Manager app icon

The iOS app was recently updated and improved search, information about possible security vulnerabilities in your accounts using the Watchtower feature (Watchtower) and 3D Touch support (searching, accessing bookmarks and adding a new item directly from the app icon; and content viewing with features Peek and Pop).

But who received the most significant update was the version of the app for OS X. It is true that 1Password for iOS has been in version 6 for some time (currently in 6.2), but now AgileBits has left the version for OS X standing equality.

Sorry, app not found.

Now, Mac users can also view all of their vaults at once (including choosing which ones are shown in this unique view), create stronger passwords that make some kind of sense (not just random numbers / letters) thanks to the composition of passwords that use words (in English), among other cool things.

Those who bought 1Password for OS X outside the Mac App Store (that is, directly via the developer's website) will also like something new: now, thanks to a recent change promoted by Apple in the way data is synchronized in iCloud (use of framework CloudKit), AgileBits was able to offer data synchronization through Apple's cloud service to customers who purchased the software outside the OS X app store.

It is worth noting that it is only possible to synchronize a single safe via iCloud (regardless of where you purchased 1Password), so if you have two or more safes it is ideal to use Dropbox. Finally, version 6.0 supports the 1Password for Teams feature, a very good news for teams that share service logins / passwords in general. Oh, and this free update for anyone who has 1Password 4 or 5.

It's an app more than recommended by us! 😉
