150 lost objects registered online daily

Daily they are registered in the service online Lost and Found 150 new objects or personal documents lost. The number reveals the success of the portal launched eight months ago, in terms of citizen participation. Less effective are the resolution rates guaranteed by the publication online of a good lost.

Only 10 percent of registrations have so far feedback positive with the delivery to the owners of the lost goods, data from the Ministry of Internal Administration provided to Lusa.

In global terms, the figures provided by the Ministry show that 17 thousand objects and close to 20 thousand personal documents have been added to the site since January. 1,620 objects and less than 3,000 documents were handed over to the owners.

The service online de Perdidos e Achados did not make available all the features initially planned, such as the photograph that should accompany each published item. The decision, guarantees the ministry, is an attempt to prevent the appearance of false owners.

This year, however, the service should undergo another update, with the possibility of presenting the loss of a property by email and receiving by the same way, a note that this has been found.

Wallets, key rings, glasses and cell phones are among the most lost objects. In the portal there are also other less conventional records of objects such as dentures or plastic bags … even empty.
