15 iPhone tips that every Apple phone user should know
Did you just buy or win an iPhone and are using it for the first time? Be very welcome! We’re sure you’re loving your new Little toy, discovering the thousands of things he is capable of. ?
To help you get started, we highlight 15 basic iPhone tips you should know about your new device, to get the most out of it from day one.
1 Take photo of iPhone screen
Sometimes you can ask an acquaintance for help about something that appeared on your iPhone, and then the ideal is to send him a picture of the screen (on the computer we call it print screen) to better explain your problem. Therefore, one of the first things to learn is how to do this. It is basic, but it is not so obvious for those who are starting.
Taking a picture of the screen is very easy, but the movement depends on the model of iPhone you have. See below:
⇒ iPhone with front button
You need to press the front button of the device and the sleep / on button at the same time. You will see a flash and hear a photo sound, indicating that you have succeeded. The image is saved in your photo library.
⇒ iPhone without front button
Press the side button and the volume up button at the same time.
2 Save an image from the internet
If you are viewing a website and want to download an image of it, just touch it for 2 seconds until the Save Image menu appears. It will then be stored in the device’s photo library.
If your device is compatible with 3D Touch, it is possible that the image will open before the menu appears. In this case, just touch it again for 2 seconds and the menu appears.
3 Fix capital letters (Caps Lock)
On the iPhone (and iPad) there is a way to keep capitals active on the keyboard (on the computer we call this caps Lock). To do this, just double-tap the Shift key (the one with an up arrow).
To accentuate a letter on iOS, just touch it and hold for 1 second, until the options appear. This also works with numbers and other symbols.
5 End point shortcut
When you’re typing text or a message to someone, you can put a full stop playing twice fast on the space bar.
6 Undo an error (Undo)
IOS does not work Control-Z computers, but there is another way to undo what you just typed. On the iPhone, just shake the device for the undo option to appear.
On the iPad (different from the iPhone), there is an “Undo” button on the keyboard itself.
7 Touch the top of the screen
When you slide the screen down on a website, a message or any list, you can quickly go back to the top simply ringing the clock at the top of the screen.
8 Scientific calculator
The iPhone’s native calculator hides a scientific mode. To activate it, just open it and place the device’s screen horizontally.
9 Erase characters from the calculator
Still talking about a calculator, to delete digits from a number you just entered, just drag your finger over it, from right to left.
10 Enable iPhone backup on iCloud
Nowadays our cell phones have very important information, in addition to files, photos and data. Therefore, you cannot risk losing everything if your device suddenly breaks down or is stolen. To prevent this, activate automatic backup via iCloud as soon as possible. It will save all your data daily, so you don’t lose it.
You can also back up your computer, see how to proceed on this link.
11 iPhone locked
The device may eventually lock up completely. In this case, don’t despair, as there is a way to reset the iPhone.
If your device is iPhone 6s or earlier, just hold the front and home buttons at the same time for 10 seconds, until the apple logo appears on the screen.
If it is an iPhone 7 or later, the procedure is similar, but you will need to press the rest and volume buttons until the apple appears. Read more about this in this other link.
12 Website shortcut on apps screen
You can add shortcuts to the websites you visit most on the application screen. To do this, just open the website in Safari, tap the share symbol and select “Home Screen”. With that, a new icon is created on the iPhone screen and each time you touch it, it will directly open the website you saved.
13 Add favorites to contacts
There are people you communicate with most often, such as family members or work contacts. So, ideally, you should create shortcuts to access them quickly when you need to call or send a message. In this another article we teach you how to add favorites to your contacts.
