1. Use Spotify as an alarm

The feature works in conjunction with the Google Watch app, which is usually factory-installed on Android devices. To use it, open the Clock app and tap on the + to create a new alarm.

Set the time to sound and confirm in OK. Then tap the image of a bell and on the next screen go to Spotify.

If the option appears, tap To connect to allow access to your service account streaming of songs. You can choose one of the suggestions or go over the magnifying glass icon to search for the music you want to use as an alarm.

2. Perform advanced searches

To find exactly what you are looking for in Spotify, you can enter specific search terms in the search bar. Check out the main ones below:

  • year: The term, which in English means year, filters searches by year of release of songs or albums. If you want to search for a specific type year: xxxx, like year: 1987. If you prefer to find the songs released at a specific time, separate the years by a hyphen (for example, year: 1987-1990);
  • genre: Refines the search by musical genre. So when writing genre: pop In the search bar, only tracks belonging to this style of music will be listed;
  • label: Helps you find songs that belong to a particular label. So it puts label: sony, find all the artists and songs released by the label;
  • tag: new: search for an artist's most recent album. For example: tag: new blink 182;
  • AND: Lets you search for more than one artist or song. That is, by typing Green Day AND Blink 182, the results will display both bands;
  • OR: Limits the search for one artist or another. For example: Green Day OR Blink 182.
  • NOT: excludes something from the search. For example, a performer of a song or a song of an artist. If we put Cassia Eller NOT Eye Light, all of the singer's tracks will be listed except Light of the eyes.

3. Set the sound quality

Spotify lets you set the sound quality in your smartphone and desktop apps according to the type of subscription (free or premium). The functionality is not available on the web version.

In the mobile app, go to Homethen on gear cone (), situated at the top of the right screen. In the section Music Quality, choose the option you prefer in the item Transmission.

If you are a Premium user, you can select from Automatic, Low, Normal, High and Altssima. If you subscribe to the free version, do not have the item Altssima disposition.

In the computer program, you can access the resource through the following path:

Click on down arrow, in the upper right corner of the screen Preferences Music Quality Music Quality Details. In the case of a Windows computer, the option Low not be available.

4. Play uncensored music

Some songs are classified in Spotify as Explicit, that is, they offer an adult content. Songs indicated thus receive the label Explicit (or the letter AND at the web player).

Premium subscribers can choose to allow or not play such content in the smartphone app.

To do this, follow the path: Home Gear Icon () enable or disable relative key opo Allow explicit content to play.

5. Listen to music offline

The feature is also only available for Premium users and allows you to download songs, albums, playlists and podcasts to listen even when not connected to the internet.

6. Use phone as Spotify control on PC

Did you know you can use the Spotify app on your phone to control the player on other devices? To use Wi-Fi Connect, open the desktop app, TV, video game, and more, or go to the Spotify Web version.

Then open the app on the smartphone, go to the tab Home and then in gear cone (). Scroll to the next screen and tap Connect to a device. The program identifies other devices on which Spotify is open. Tap the one you want to control remotely with your phone.

7. Find out who your followers are (and follow them back if you want)

In addition to making millions of songs available to its users, Spotify has a social part that not everyone knows about. You can follow friends who use the service and find out which songs they are listening to lately.

If your account is linked to Facebook, you probably have followers who follow your songs (even the most shameful ones) and don't even know.

To follow some, stay on the profile page and go to Meet friends. All your Facebook contacts who also have the account associated with Spotify will be listed. If you want to search for a specific type in the name bar Filter and add it to the + cone cone that appears next to it.

By accessing the person's profile page, information is available on the latest artists and playlists played.

8. Hide what you hear

If you prefer, click on the Facebook, Twitter and Reddit icons to share on these social networks. Or download the image to post or send on other platforms, Instagram or email.

10. Create a collaborative playlist

Are you going to have a party and want the guests to help with the event's music list? Then create a collaborative playlist where everyone can add, delete, and rearrange song order.

To do by smartphone, go to Your Library Playlists + Create playlist with three dots at the top of the screen Make collaborative.

On your computer, right-click on a playlist and choose to Collaborative Playlist. A circle icon will indicate that it is now open to contribution.

Then share the link with your friends, either by Spotify Codes or by the URL of the list.

11. Disconnect all devices at once

Forgot your Spotify open somewhere or suspect someone is using your account without authorization? Then disconnect from all devices at once.

To do so, go to your Spotify account page and if you are not logged in, please login. Scroll down and click Leave all devices. Ready, be disconnected.

The service warns that logging out, however, is not done on partner devices such as Playstation and Sonos speakers, for example.
