15 and 17 inch MacBooks Pro are unable to use Intel integrated graphics via Windows

Users who installed Windows via Boot Camp on their new MacBooks Pro have already been surprised by the fact that the option of integrated graphics (provided by Intel alongside Core i5 and i7 processors) is unavailable on the Microsoft system. In a support article published yesterday, Apple clarified the case, stating that it is not possible to use the two GPUs through it on a 15 or 17 inch model.

The system of automatic switching between GPUs created by Apple is exclusive to Apple for Mac OS X, so that it only works correctly with frameworks and applications created for your platform. If you need to run Windows at native speed through the company's new professional notebooks, only the GeForce GT 330M will be used by graphics-intensive games or applications.

This is not necessarily a problem, considering that the GPU available through Windows is the most powerful despite the fact that it reduces battery life to a maximum of eight hours (with a lot of luck). With support for Intel's integrated graphics, the new 15 ″ and 17 ″ MacBooks Pro can switch between this GPU and dedicated hardware as the computer needs greater or lesser performance to perform certain tasks, which offers a small improvement in consumption power.
