COLLAB distinguished with the APDC / Siemens Innovation Award

As of today, Clix has three new offers available in the area of broadband Internet that include higher speed classes and include the operator’s voice service without requiring payment of a telephone line subscription. The official announcement was made by Paulo Azevedo, president of SonaeCom, during the panel «State of the Nation» at this 14th APDC Congress.

Paulo Azevedo considered that this is a revolutionary offer in broadband, which is already available to the 3 million customers connected through the exchanges that SonaeCom has already unbundled. The president of SonaeCom also pledged to extend this service to 6 million customers next year if the conditions for opening the local loop equal the average of the 15 best practices in Europe.

Also welcoming the recent determination of Anacom regarding access to the bitstream for the wholesale ADSL offer of PT Paulo Azevedo stated that SonaeCom will return to ADSL bitsream if the resolution is effectively implemented. It should be noted that Clix withdrew from this market because it considered that there were no competitive conditions.

Broadband offerThe Clix ADSL Turbo portfolio now returns with access modes of 2, 4 and 8 Mbps, for which monthly prices of 22.50, 38.90 and 54.90 euros are stipulated, respectively. The Clix Turbo ADSL 2 Megas includes 10 GB of national and international traffic, while the 4 Megas version comprises 25 GB. The Clix Turbo 8 Megas includes 50 GB of traffic, according to information available from the company’s website. After consumption of the associated GBs the price is 0.0015 euros for every 100 Kbytes.

Until December 31, 2004, all customers who subscribe to the Clix Turbo ADSL services now available will be able to browse and make downloads, national and international, without any traffic limitation, in the period between 9 pm and 9 am.

In the first phase, this service will be available to about half a million households in the areas of Lisbon, Porto, Braga and Guimarães, cities where initially Clix is present with its own network, installed over the local loop unbundling. The offer will soon be available to around three million inhabitants.
