In a new environmental report (PDF), Apple today detailed the progress it has made in the new Mac Pro in terms of energy efficiency (it consumes 68% less power when on standby and meets ENERGY STAR 6.0 requirements), use of materials (consumes 74% less aluminum and than the previous generation), packaging (the new 82% less in volume and 84% lighter), among others. As expected, the machine also won the seal "Gold" of EPEAT. (TechCrunch)
