All of our processors are prepared for Retina displays, if OEMs want to use them.

This was Kirk Skaugen, vice president and general manager for groups of PC customers at Intel, speaking on the company's developer forum (14’30), which happened yesterday. Only Apple uses the expression "Retina screen" in its communications, don't be surprised if the new Macs equipped with Ivy Bridge have resolutions of up to 4K after all, Apple is already preparing for this.
