↪ Apple is again sued in Europe for warranty policies

AppleCare box

Apple's practice of selling the AppleCare extended warranty stating that it covers the product for “two more years” again has placed the company in a difficult position in Europe, where local laws automatically extend warranties to two years. A lawsuit has been opened in Belgium that mirrors a case that Apple lost in Italy over the issue. Apple changed its policy in Italy and paid a fine as a result of the decision, but it did not change practices in all European Union countries.

We have covered this topic a lot here on the site and it seems that Apple is not very interested in solving things there. Meanwhile, groups, consumer associations such as Test-Aankoop / Test-Achats, which opened this process (Google Translate) and even government agencies are suing the company. (MacNN)
